Evaluation
The department provides resources in Program Planning and Evaluation in support of county and departmental Extension programs in Tennessee. Included in these responsibilities are planning and reporting systems, the Federal Plan of Work and Annual Federal Reports. Joseph Donaldson is your contact point for assistance in evaluating extension programs.
Evaluation Resources
Staff Development
Coordination of statewide extension staff development efforts is another departmental initiative. Plans are underway to establish frameworks for conducting online training and for a learning management system to track inservice training from the planning stages through individual training records. Extenison internship programs (Philip Morris and Minority) are also a part of staff devlopment responsibilities. Randol Waters works most directly with these initiatives.

Other Departmental Functions
Several administrative functions also fall within the responsibilities of Evaluation and Staff Development. These include agent recruitment, the hiring process, affirmative action and EEO, performance appraisal and statewide civil rights programming, to name a few. Herb Byrd gives primary leadership to these activities.
